For small business owners selling online and doing everything else too

The news, ideas, and tools you actually need to grow online.

In your inbox every Tuesday.

Okay, but what's actually in it?

One sponsor, not a marketplace

We're not renting out your inbox to a dozen brands. Just one a week, boxed off and easy to spot.

Three things, not thirty

We read it (and find it) so you don't have to, then tell you why it actually matters for your business.

We see a lot of it

One pick a week, pulled from everything we've been reading and watching. Just trust us, it's good.

Recommended, not rented

One newsletter we actually read ourselves, picked because it's worth your time, not because it paid for the spot.

Only the dates worth knowing

Just a few to keep in mind. We know your calendar's full enough already.

U.S. Edition
Tuesday, July 7th

Happy Tuesday. The platforms had a busy week again, which is a nice way of saying they moved some things around without asking anyone's permission. Here's what's actually worth your three minutes.

Brought to you by

Kit

Kit is the email marketing platform that helps you grow your list, find your highest-value subscribers, and earn more from every send.

One sponsor, not a marketplace

We're not renting out your inbox to a dozen brands. Just one a week, boxed off and easy to spot.

The Front Table

TikTok Shop shortens seller payout windows

Standard payouts moved from a 10-day hold to 5 days for sellers in good standing, effective this week. If that cash usually goes straight into your next inventory order, it's worth checking your dashboard for eligibility today.

Google Business Profile adds a native "Deals" tab

Google quietly rolled a dedicated deals and promotions tab into Business Profiles, retail and food service first. It's not everywhere yet, but if you see it, it's a free spot for time-limited offers in local search and Maps, no ad spend required.

Everyone's "yapping" now, and it's oddly good marketing

The biggest content trend on Instagram and TikTok right now isn't a fancy edit, it's just talking straight to your phone, unscripted. For small business owners, that's good news, no production budget required, and audiences increasingly trust the rough cut over the polished pitch.

Staff Pick

Good to Great, by Jim Collins

An oldie but a goodie, worth the reread when everything else feels like it's moving at AI speed.

We see a lot of it

One pick a week, pulled from everything we've been reading and watching. Just trust us, it's good.

Save the Dates

July
National Independent Retailers Month. A good excuse to lean into your own story this month instead of matching big-box marketing.
Mid-July
Back-to-school shopping unofficially kicks off. If you sell anything a parent or teacher might need, now's the time to get in front of them.

Only the dates worth knowing

Just a few to keep in mind. We know your calendar's full enough already.

That's a wrap. See you next Tuesday.
